About the author

Pete Curtis is the author of Run Reggie Run, a wartime thriller inspired by the extraordinary true story of his grandfather's experiences during the Second World War. Based in Ireland, Pete spent more than 25 years working in operations, training and leadership before turning his attention to something he had always wanted to do — write a novel.
Run Reggie Run combines the brutal reality of war with adventure, humour, courage and the remarkable resilience of ordinary men caught in extraordinary circumstances. From the deserts of North Africa to a prisoner-of-war camp in occupied Europe, the story follows Reggie Curtis as survival becomes only the beginning of his fight to get home.
Pete's approach to writing is rooted in character, pace and storytelling, with a particular love of the thrillers he grew up reading. His writing journey was further developed through the BBC Maestro writing course, which helped him refine his approach to structure, character and suspense.
What began as a family story became Run Reggie Run — and Pete's ambition is for Reggie's story to reach readers far beyond Ireland and he continues to develop the Reggie Curtis universe, with further adventures already taking shape. For Pete, writing is ultimately about one thing: telling a great story — preferably with a little danger, a lot of heart, and just enough humour to keep everyone alive.
